About Canoeing Victoria
The Victorian Canoe Association Inc., (Canoeing Victoria) formed in 1930 and was incorporated in 1984. It is the State body responsible for the management, co-ordination, development and promotion of canoeing in Victoria. It represents the interests of its members, the public and the national body (Australian Canoeing).
Canoeing Victoria is committed to the provision of the highest standard of competition, safety, coaching, instruction, education and the creation of opportunities for participation.
Canoeing Victoria consists of seven committees responsible for the disciplines of Marathon Canoeing, Canoe Polo, Slalom, Wildwater, Sprint Racing, Touring and Education.
Each committee is responsible for putting practical effect to its objective of optimising community participation in each aspect of the activity.

Clubs
Canoeing Victoria has thirty three affiliated Canoeing Clubs, which amounts to approximately 1800 active members. Additionally, it is estimated that some 50,000 people participate in the sport within Victoria

Structure
Canoeing Victoria consists of two administrative bodies. The Council and Executive Committee. Standing committees (disciplines of canoeing) are represented on the Executive committee. Affiliated canoe clubs are represented on the Council. Canoeing Victoria membership includes accident and personal liability insurance, subscription to Paddler magazine, and discounts at all VCA races.
Strategic Plan
The VCA trades as Canoeing Victoria as a member of Australian Canoeing Inc., which in turn has international affiliation with the International Canoe Federation as well as national affiliation with the Australian Olympic Committee. The VCA Inc. has similar affiliation with the Olympic movement and organised sport in Victoria.
